OUR STORY

The Armory Baseball & Softball Academy was founded by Matt Pita, a former New York Yankees organization player and Miami Marlins hitting coach, to bring professional-level training to Rochester and Batavia, NY. It was built on the same values that shaped his career: family, discipline, and a relentless drive to improve.

 

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Ordinary is a weakness. Greatness is the standard.

Every rep has a purpose. Sessions are structured and intentional, with no filler.

Progress you can see. Video breakdowns and development plans let players and parents track real growth.

Character counts. We build confidence, discipline, and work ethic, not just swings.

 

HOW WE DEVELOP PLAYERS

1. Evaluate. We look at mechanics, approach, and strength to see where each player stands.

2. Build a plan. Every athlete gets a development plan with clear goals.

3. Train, measure, adjust. We track progress and refine the plan so players keep improving.

 

WHO WE TRAIN

Baseball and softball players ages 7 and up, from youth to high school, through private lessons, memberships, winter clinics, strength & conditioning, travel teams, and cage rentals.
